Ryan was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  He graduated high school in 2004, and obtained a Bachelor of Music from Houston Baptist University in 2009 and a Master of Arts in music in 2012.  Ryan worked as a public school teacher from 2012-2017, and, at various and sometime overlapping periods, has also worked as a private music instructor, telemarketer, barista, school bus driver, journalist, church pianist, and college professor.  He has been an Astros fan since boyhood, and a general baseball fan for the last several years.  Ryan is currently serving as Music Director at Woodforest Presbyterian Church and working at civil engineering company Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. while completing a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering degree at the University of Houston.
